The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger
Building a robust food movement in Colorado.
Who does the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger Serve?
We are part of a diverse and collaborative network working to build a robust food justice movement so that all Coloradans can have access to the food they choose, where they want it, and when they need it. At the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger, we believe that equitable access to healthy, affordable, and culturally affirming food is a basic human right (food justice). And, our communities should have the power to choose what they eat, where it comes from, how it’s grown, and when it’s available (food sovereignty).

Our partners include food systems producers and retailers, community leaders, grassroots organizations, state and county agencies, statewide nonprofit advocates, healthcare providers, and national and federal organizations. At the heart of our mission is our commitment to centering community members and organizations in all we do. By lifting up their voices, solutions, and leadership, we aim to ensure that local priorities and perspectives drive Colorado’s food justice movement forward.
Which communities or regions do you support?
We serve the entire state of Colorado, working with local communities to alleviate hunger now while building more responsive, equitable, and sustainable food systems for the future. Our goal is to empower Colorado communities with the autonomy to determine their own local food system priorities and interests while providing the tools and support necessary to achieve them.
What’s important about this work for your community?
Our work is critical because it strengthens Colorado’s food justice movement through capacity building, collaboration, and centering equity. By equipping communities with the resources and support to create resilient and equitable food systems, we address pressing issues like food insecurity, public health disparities, and environmental challenges. Our collaborative approach ensures that the solutions we pursue are grounded in shared knowledge and collective action, creating long-lasting, community-driven impact.

We welcome collaborators from all sectors to join our efforts to empower local solutions and build a resilient food justice movement that’s led by the people who grow, produce, sell, and eat food. Sharing our mission and successes with others is another way to amplify the importance of equitable, responsive, and sustainable food systems in Colorado and beyond.
Through fiscal sponsorship, how have you been able to increase your impact? Or how has your work changed or evolved without having to deal with administrative burdens?
Through the care and collaborative support of Trailhead Institute and their staff, we’ve been able to focus fully on advancing our mission without being burdened by administrative complexities.
