Provecho Collective (formerly the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger)

Helping create a Colorado where there’s food for all, today and tomorrow

Collaboration is essential to tackling today’s public health challenges — because no single organization or sector can do it alone. This is why relationship building and partnerships are at the heart of our work to support healthier communities. In this ongoing series, we spotlight the individuals, organizations, and collaboratives that make up Trailhead’s network of partners, sharing their impact in their own words.

Who does Provecho Collective serve?

Provecho Collective is building a people-powered movement for more responsive, equitable, and sustainable food systems across Colorado. Established in 2019, our statewide nonprofit shifts power to Colorado communities by convening partners, supporting local solutions, strengthening resources, and championing bold policy change.

We work alongside a broad and diverse network of collaborators and partners who are transforming Colorado’s food system every day. This includes community advocates, grassroots leaders, local producers and retailers, food pantries and food banks, advocacy groups, healthcare providers, public agencies, and national organizations. At the heart of our mission is centering and honoring the voices and leadership of those most affected by hunger and food injustices — amplifying lived expertise, elevating local solutions, and ensuring community priorities shape our policy and advocacy efforts.

Our role is to coordinate collective action, connect partners across regions, and advocate for sustainable solutions. We invite everyone to our shared table, because only together can we create a Colorado where all people have access to the food they choose, where they want it, and when they need it.

Which communities or regions do you support?

Provecho Collective works with local communities across Colorado — from rural regions and mountain towns to suburban neighborhoods and city hubs — to help people get the food they need today while building a better food future for all tomorrow. Our work spans the entire state because food access, community power, and local solutions for local food systems look different in every place.

At Provecho Collective, we believe that equitable access to healthy, affordable, and culturally affirming food is a basic human right (food justice). And, our communities should have the power to choose what they eat, where it comes from, how it’s grown, and when it’s available (food sovereignty).

What’s important about this work for your community?

Our work strengthens Colorado’s food justice movement by building community capacity, shifting power, deepening collaboration, and centering equity in everything we do. When communities have the resources, relationships, and support to shape their own food systems, they’re better equipped to respond to food insecurity, public health disparities, and environmental challenges.

As a convener, connector, and capacity-builder, Provecho Collective helps local communities build food systems that are more resilient, responsive, sustainable, and rooted in equity. Our collaborative approach ensures that we’re pursuing long-lasting, community-driven solutions grounded in real experiences, shared knowledge, and collective action.

How can people support your work or get involved?

Every voice, every dollar, and every action matters! People can support Provecho Collective by making a donation or partnering in our collaborative spaces to ensure everyone has good food and a voice in shaping the systems that affect their lives.

Our movement is led by the people who grow, produce, sell, advocate for, and eat food, so we welcome collaborators from all sectors to join our efforts in ways that feel right for them. We also encourage people to share information about our work and successes with others — and help bring more voices to the table as we work to ensure everyone can access nourishing, culturally affirming foods close to home.
