Jamie Fanselow works through the Front Range Area Health and Education Center (FRAHEC) to address the root causes and upstream factors of youth tobacco and substance use in Gilpin, Clear Creek, and Park Counties. By engaging with community partners such as the Park County Mental Health Alliance, Park County’s SE2 End Stigma: Start Recovery campaign, and the Gilpin Public Health Partners group, this RHC aims to increase youth protective factors. These include developing new skills and relationships, decreasing social isolation, and increasing youth involvement in positive extracurricular activities. Jamie also works to increase regional vaccination uptake by channeling state funding and compensation to local volunteers who support public health vaccination efforts. Additionally, Jamie shares access to care resources via a monthly newsletter.
Jamie served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in rural West Africa.
